Edvard Pires Bjørgen
I make digital things, usually where design gets technical. Design systems by day. Small tools, games and odd experiments after that.
Selected projects
- Equinor Design System
I joined the Equinor Design System team in August 2025 and became Design Lead in April 2026. I work across the system's design, documentation and direction while the team rebuilds its foundations and components.
- Form Design System
From August 2021 to June 2023, I helped establish Form v1 as a shared foundation for product design and development across Lyse and Altibox. I joined as a designer and led the work during its final seven months.
- Lyse Min Energi
From November 2021 until mid-2022, I defined much of the initial design direction for version 4.0.0, a major redesign of Lyse's existing Min Energi app. The redesign focused on helping customers understand electricity prices and consumption during Norway's sharp increase in power prices.
- Virtual Therapy Lab
In 2021, I joined an international Tietoevry team building Virtual Therapy Lab with Latvia's Adolescent and Youth Psychotherapy Centre. I became the project's de facto main designer and worked across the VR interaction design, UX, Unity development, multiplayer system, 3D environments and avatars.
- Adjutant
I started Adjutant in March 2026 after deciding that the personal-agent tools I tried required more access than I was comfortable granting. I built a smaller framework whose knowledge, permissions and lifecycle I could understand and control.
- Termina
I started Termina around January 2026 because the commands that kept my local setup running were spread across terminal tabs and stored in different places. It gives those long-running processes one small home on macOS.
- Virtual Piano
I built Virtual Piano from December 2019 to March 2020 to test the Oculus Quest hand tracking soon after it became available. The experiment lets you play without controllers and align the virtual keyboard with a physical table.
- Wine Lottery
I built the Unity application in November and December 2019 to give the existing vinlotteriet.no lottery a more exciting draw. Each ball represents a paid ticket, and the machine uses physics to select the winner.
- HomeVR
In 2020, I recreated the house where I grew up as an Oculus Quest environment. The project explored how photographs, architectural measurements and memory could make a familiar place recognizable in VR.
- Romplan UiB
An Android app I started in 2015 so we could quickly see whether a seminar room at the University of Bergen was free for studying. What began as a tool for ourselves grew to an estimated 100–150 users.
- FireTracker
My 2018 master's thesis at the University of Bergen examined how an indoor-positioning application could support instructors and firefighters during smoke-diving training. I designed and built the React interface that turned beacon data into a reviewable route over a floor plan.
